The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra and Music Director David Cho.

In Wednesday’s (4/10) Everything Lubbock (Texas), Anthony Torres writes, “The Lubbock Symphony Orchestra led by Music Director David Cho will be joined by Isabel Marie Sánchez—2016 recipient of the Tejano Music Award for Best New Female Artist—in a concert celebrating the musical legacy of Selena. The concert will be held at the Buddy Holly Hall of Performing Arts & Sciences on September 7 at 7:30 p.m. A press release said the performance will feature iconic hits including ‘Dreaming of You,’ ‘Como la Flor,’ ‘Bidi Bidi Bom Bom,’ ‘No Me Queda Más,’ and ‘I Could Fall in Love.’ ‘Texas has a rich musical history and Selena is certainly among the greatest artists to ever hail from the state,’ said Lubbock Symphony Orchestra President & CEO Galen Wixson. ‘It’s only fitting that we honor the Queen of Tejano Music’s legacy and do so with another great Texan, Isabel Marie Sánchez, who I know audiences will love.’ ”
